Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a new feed?

Navigate to Feeds → Add Feed (or tap the + button in the iOS app) and paste the URL of a website or a direct RSS/Atom feed. SlashFeed will auto-detect feeds from website URLs by probing common paths (/feed, /rss, /atom.xml) and <link rel="alternate"> tags.

How do I reset my password?

SlashFeed uses magic-link login by default — no password to remember. Enter your email on the Log In page and we'll email you a one-click sign-in link. If you've set a password and forgotten it, use the Forgot password? link on the login page.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all your data — subscriptions, reading history, annotations, starred entries, and device tokens. The action cannot be undone. Alternatively, email [email protected] and we'll handle it within 7 days.

How do I import feeds from another reader?

Export an OPML file from your current reader, then go to Import in SlashFeed and upload it. SlashFeed will create your categories and subscribe you to all feeds in the file automatically.

Why is a feed not updating?

Feeds are refreshed automatically on their configured interval (default: every hour). You can trigger an immediate refresh from the feed list — tap the refresh icon next to the feed name. If a feed shows a red error badge, the publisher's server may be temporarily unavailable or the URL may have changed.

Can I use SlashFeed with a third-party RSS app?

Yes. SlashFeed exposes a Miniflux-compatible REST API and a Fever API endpoint, compatible with apps such as Reeder, NetNewsWire, and Unread. You can also use the native SlashFeed REST API documented at /docs/api.

How do push notifications work on iOS?

The SlashFeed iOS app registers your device's APNs token with the server on first launch. You can manage notification preferences inside the app under Settings → Notifications. You can revoke push access at any time from iOS Settings → Notifications → SlashFeed.
