How-to guides → Discord
Feed alerts, in Discord.
Post new entries from any feed or category straight into a Discord channel with a webhook. Four steps, no bot required.
Step 1
Create a Discord webhook
In your Discord server, open the target channel's settings (the gear icon) and go to Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook. Give it a name (e.g. "SlashFeed") and click Copy Webhook URL:
https://discord.com/api/webhooks/000000000000000000/XXXXXXXX
Treat the URL like a password — anyone who has it can post to that channel.

Step 2
Add the channel in SlashFeed
Open Notification Channels in the app and click + Discord. Paste the webhook URL, add a label if you like, and save. For safety, SlashFeed only ever displays the webhook's host — never the full secret URL.
SlashFeed's Notification Channels page with the + Discord form open: label and webhook URL fields filled (URL blurred), and the saved channel row showing only discord.com as the host.

Step 3
Send a test
Click the paper-plane icon next to the channel. A test message is posted to Discord immediately — if it fails, the webhook was probably deleted or the URL was pasted incompletely.

Step 4
Attach a rule
Add a rule that binds the channel to a trigger: every new entry, a specific feed, or a whole category. Matching entries are then delivered to Discord in the background, with automatic retries.
SlashFeed's Add rule form with the Discord channel selected and a trigger scope chosen, plus the resulting rule row in the Rules list.
